Serratiopeptidase

Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme (protease) produced by Serratia marcescens through the processes of aerobic fermentation. The enzyme has a molecular weight of 52 KD as determined by Electrophoresis. Serratiopeptidase is identified and analyzed as per the standard methods given in Indian Pharmacopeia 2010.

Typical specifications of the Serratiopeptidase are given below:

Unit definition (u): One unit of Serratiopeptidase is equivalent to one micro gram of Tyrosine that is produced by one milligram of Serratiopeptidase from Casein substrate in one minute.
